Right, so yesterday I made a new friend, about 602km long, large and wet...name? La Garonne, the river that runs through Toulouse on its way somewhere from the Pyrenees to the Atlantic ocean. Yes, I took a dip (unwanted) as I was hanging out with my flatmates & Co. at the river’s waterfront. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how I ended up in the river (completely submerged!). Yes sure, I was drinking beer, and of course I went for Belgian beer which as most of you know is quite strong, and we’ve had a few while we were walking from our flat to the river, but it wasn’t like I wasn’t able to stand straight anymore or anything! Yet, I managed to get a wet (and surprisingly warm) hug from the Garonne, what a nice welcome indeed, because it was after all my first night out in Toulouse!

O.k. so gestern machte ich eine neue Bekanntschaft, ungefaehr 602km lang, gross und nass....Name? La Garonne, der Fluss der auf seinem Weg von den Pyreneen zum atlantischen Ozean durch Toulouse fliesst. Ja, ich bin reingefallen waehrend ich mich mit meinen WG Genossen & Co. am Ufer aufhielt. Aber echt, ich habe keinen blassen Schimmer wie ich da jetzt in den (bloeden) Fluss reingefallen bin (voll eingetaucht und alles!!). Natuerlich war ich am Bier trinken, hochprozentiges belgisches Bier (ich Idiot)das wir uns reingepfiffen haben waehrend wir von unserer Wohnung zum Fluss marschiert sind. Aber war ja nicht so dass ich nicht mehr gerade laufen konnte oder so. Trotzdem hab ichs geschafft eine nasse (und erstaunlich warme) Umarmung von der Garonne zu bekommen. Na das nenn ich doch mal ein richtig schoenes Willkommen waehrend meines ersten Ausgangs in Toulouse!
